With over six 6 years’ experience working extensively on issues of sexual violence, irregular migration, child abuse, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and increasing access to sexual reproductive health, Osowobi has managed grants programs aimed at improving the lives of Nigerian women and girls, while increasing access to justice.

For 2 years, she worked extensively within the migration field on projects aimed at reducing irregular migration in Nigeria while supporting returned migrants. Under this project as well, she facilitated capacity building training for Government and non-state actors on building effective communication strategies to promote safe migration pathways, eliminate stigmatisation of returned migrants and foster social cohesion in their communities of origin.

STER is a youth-led, nonprofit organisation advocating for and promoting Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SHRH) and speaking against sexual violence. They advocate for rape survivors who can’t speak about their ordeal due to stigmatisation.
STER Initiative believes that an enlightened community will see the need to end rape and victim-blaming once and for all. They express this belief through their use of new media to debunk misconceptions around sexual violence and creating awareness of the ills of rape culture in society.
A recipient of various awards, their goal is to create a society where women and men, girls and boys no longer have to live in fear of rape and all forms of sexual violence. STER Initiative engages in community outreach programs and provides free self-defense classes for girls and boys to achieve this goal.
