Titus Saul Ketkukah, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Bauchi State, on Friday called on Christian communities to use this year’s Easter celebration to offer prayers for the peace, progress and unity of the state and Nigeria at large.
Ketkukah, a professor, gave the charge in a goodwill message through Ayuba Maffi, his media aide, to mark the occasion of the 2025 Easter celebration.
He charged Christians to emulate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for mankind and for the betterment of the society.

“I charge all of us to emulate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who gave his life for mankind. Let us follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ who preaches peace, love and unity,” he charged Christians.
The commissioner appealed to Christians of Tafawa-Balewa Local Government Area, Bauchi State and Nigeria at large to love people of other faith pointing out that development cannot take place in the atmosphere of chaos.
“I am ready to work with everybody irrespective of religion, and I am ready to take any ideas that could lead to the progress of the administration of Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, the state governor and my boss.

“I would like to appeal to you all to imbibe the spirit of love for one another, forgiveness and mutual respect. We must see ourselves as one and the same people irrespective of our ethnic and religious differences,” he said.
He charged people that there is a serious need for prayers to God for the current situation of economic hardship and insecurity challenges of Boko Haram insurgency, Fulani herdsmen, kidnappers and other criminal activities that are affecting the country.
Professor Ketkukah urged people to keep praying for the successful tenure of the governor in order to continue doing the good work of developing the state.
