The US Exchange Alumni Association has inaugurated new leadership after its successful free and fair election held in August at “American Corner”, Lagos.
At the end of the voting exercise, Jude Ememe, emerged as the President of the Association, while Dayo Isreal was elected as Vice President (Operations), Mojisola Onifade-VP (Programs), and African Farmer Mogaji- VP (Fundraising).
Other members of the executive are Abosede Adesalu – general secretary, Olorunfunmi Adebajo- Assistant Secretary General, Johnson Nweze-Financial Secretary, Abosede Oyeleye-Treasurer, and Mike Okwoche-Publicity Secretary.
The election was presided over and conducted by Austin Emeano from the US Consulate, a capable personality who coordinated the polls firmly, fairly and openly.
The US Exchange Alumni Association, which wS inaugurated recently, aims at enhancing collaboration among the various Exchange groups in the Lagos area.
“We are gathered this morning based on our strong belief and conviction that working together is synergistic and would help us pursue projects and programs for positive social change. Indeed working together has several implications and benefits: it will enable us interact better, relate better and to achieve inter-group collaboration and to more effectively implement social programs. Through this platform, we can network our talents, skills and resources for greater societal influence”, Ememe said in his inaugural speech.
The US Exchange Alumni Association, Lagos Chapter consists of over 20 various Exchange programs namely; The International Visitors Leadership Program, IVLP; Fulbright Junior Scholar Development; the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program, Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant, and Fulbright Science and Technology.
Others include Mandela Washington Fellowship, Techwomen, Fortune 500 Women, Study of US Institutes, Young African Leadership Innovations in Science and Technology, Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Global Sports Mentoring Program, IOWA International Writers, One Beat, Pan-African Youth Leadership, Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program.
