The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, has officially launched a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Medbury Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of the Medbury Healthcare Group. The partnership was unveiled on September 16, 2025, at the hospital’s Pharmacy Department.
Speaking at the event, Olubola Ogunlakin, head of the Public-Private Partnership Department, explained that the collaboration includes the establishment of a Medbury Pharmacy stand within the UCH Pharmacy to guarantee the consistent availability of essential medications. She added that Medbury also contributed significantly to upgrading the facility by providing essential office equipment and installing a 6KVA solar inverter to strengthen the department’s power supply.
The Acting Head of the Pharmacy Department, Olukemi Akinbami, expressed gratitude for the partnership, noting that it has the potential to improve patient outcomes and strengthen the hospital’s mission of delivering quality healthcare.
The Group Managing Director of Medbury Healthcare Services, Itunu Akinware, praised the hospital’s leadership under Chief Medical Director (CMD), Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, a professor, for embracing innovative collaborations.
“This partnership demonstrates UCH’s forward-thinking approach to healthcare delivery. At Medbury, we are committed to ensuring a reliable supply of safe and effective medications, with patient welfare at the heart of everything we do,” she said.
In his remarks, Prof. Otegbayo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to patient care and staff welfare.
