President Bola Tinubu has directed the establishment of a committee of elders, made up of past and present Governors, including the Governors of Nasarawa state.
The President, while speaking in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, on Wednesday, as part of his peace-building process, said his government was not elected to witness such massive destruction of lives and properties
“We were not elected to witness loss, create orphans, or build orphanages. We are committed to working with you to achieve lasting peace in Benue State.”
The President, while issuing specific directives, directed Governor Alia to work with everyone and be a father to all.
He also ordered the creation of the “Committee of Elders established to include all former Governors. Including the Governor of Nasarawa State.
The President also urged the state government to provide land for Ranching
The President also appealed to the People of Benue to work together. –
He charges traditional rulers to work with the government to achieve peace.
Speaking specifically to Governor Alia, he urged him to be ” ready for insults. That is the yoke of leadership. Get your lantern. Seek out those leaders to join you in finding solutions.
