The latest World Happiness Report has revealed the top 10 happiest countries in Africa in 2025. The report, developed in collaboration with Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and other experts, draws insights from over 140 countries.

The happiest countries in Africa
1. Mauritius (5.832) – 78th Globally
Mauritius maintains its position as the happiest country in Africa. Known for its stable economy, high literacy rates, and strong social infrastructure, the island nation continues to prioritize sustainable development and quality of life for its residents.
2. Libya (5.820) – 79th Globally
Despite political challenges, Libya ranks as the second-happiest African country. The nation benefits from its high GDP per capita, rich natural resources, and a strong sense of community among its people.
3. Algeria (5.571) – 84th Globally
Algeria, with its vast energy resources, continues to improve living conditions for its citizens. Government initiatives aimed at economic diversification and social development have contributed to its ranking.
