TECNO Mobile, a smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled plans to deepen its push into artificial intelligence-powered smartphones with the launch of its new Camon 50 Series which targets creators and everyday users in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
The company said the upcoming lineup, which includes the Camon 50, Camon 50 Pro, and Camon 50 Pro 5G, will focus heavily on artificial intelligence features and improved zoom capabilities designed to enhance photography, content creation, and everyday productivity.
According to TECNO, the Camon 50 Series represents its first flagship smartphone launch of 2026 and reflects the brand’s strategy of integrating AI tools to help users capture, process, and share content more efficiently.
The firm said the concept of ‘zoom’ in the new devices goes beyond camera functionality, symbolising the ability of users to focus and respond quickly in an increasingly digital and fast-paced environment.
Pre-orders for the smartphone began on March 2 and will run until March 15. Early buyers will receive incentives, including a 20,000mAh power bank, a Bluetooth speaker, and a N20,000 purchase discount.
The company noted that smartphones are becoming essential tools for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who rely on mobile devices for product marketing, photography, video production, and real-time communication.
As a result, improvements in camera performance and processing speed are increasingly critical for users operating in Nigeria’s expanding digital and creator economy.
TECNO added that while the Camon line has traditionally been known for its camera performance and sleek design, the new series introduces deeper AI integration aimed at improving image clarity, motion tracking, and everyday interactions on the device.
The company said the Camon 50 Series is designed to balance professional productivity with everyday lifestyle use, combining design, performance, and durability to meet the needs of modern smartphone users.
