Team Ogun sealed a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Golden Eaglets in the semi-finals of the men’s football event played on Sunday at the 2025 National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged Gateway Games 2024, to book their place in the final.
In a thrilling encounter at the packed stadium in Abeokuta, Team Ogun showed grit and determination to outlast a spirited Golden Eaglets side. Roared on by their home fans, the hosts delivered when it mattered most, overcoming early pressure to secure the win.

Earlier in the day, Team Kwara secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Kaduna State in the other semi-final. The breakthrough came in the 62nd minute, courtesy of a well-taken goal by Muhammed Abdullahi, sending Kwara into the final.
With the results, the stage is now set for a mouthwatering final between Team Ogun and Team Kwara, both vying for the coveted gold medal. Meanwhile, the Golden Eaglets and Kaduna State will square off in the bronze medal match.
