The Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS) has partnered with CWG Plc, one of Nigeria’s technology powerhouses, to digitise and optimise its sports gaming revenue collection processes.
The agreement, reached at a stakeholder’s engagement session in Jalingo, Taraba State, is part of the state’s broader digital economy strategy.
This will see CWG Plc leverage its cutting-edge revenue systems and digital expertise (CWG’s Proprietary Gaming Management System) to enhance Taraba State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) processes.
Ireti Yusuf, chief technology officer (CTO) of CWG Plc, speaking during the agreement signing ceremony emphasised on the importance of the partnership.

During the signing ceremony, Nonso Gideon Samuel, Taraba State Commissioner of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, expressed optimism about the collaboration, appreciating the effort of the Executive Chairman and Board members of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service for facilitating the partnership with CWG Plc.
Speaking on the partnership, Adewale Adeyipo, chief executive officer of CWG stated, “We’re proud to support Taraba State’s ambition to leverage technology for governance. This partnership reflects the future of IGR – efficient, transparent, and accountable systems powered by innovation.”
The GMS platform is expected to drive significant improvements in revenue growth, reduce leakages, and provide critical insights into gaming trends and compliance across the state.
Key officials present at the signing ceremony included the Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, executive chairman of TIRS, and Brigadier General (Rtd); Gideon Samuel Nonso, honourable commissioner for Digital Economy; Dickens Shintema, legal adviser of the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TIRS), , as well as TIRS’ Board Members, Permanent Secretary, Secretary and Directors at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovations.
