At least four farmers were abducted by suspected bandits on Wednesday in Tudun Moriki, a community in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism expert, that the victims were working on their farms around 12:00 p.m. when the armed men attacked, seizing the farmers and taking them to an undisclosed location.
In response, according to Makama, security operatives swiftly mobilised to the scene and launched a rescue operation.

“Efforts are currently ongoing to locate the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
“Tudun Moriki, like many other rural communities in Zamfara, has witnessed recurrent security challenges linked to armed banditry, particularly during the farming season”, Makama reported.
