Stanbic IBTC Bank has commissioned a new branch in Kano. The branch, located on the new campus of Bayero University Kano, is in fulfillment of the bank’s commitment to broaden its service channels and, in so doing, bring world-class financial services closer to the residents.
The new office is an additional avenue for Stanbic IBTC Bank to meet the financial needs of its clientele and demonstrates the bank’s commitment to strengthen its retail banking portfolio. “The new branch reinforces the bank’s promise of convenience and accessibility to a full suite of financial products and services to the university community and other Kano residents,” said Lincoln Mali, head, personal and business banking, West Africa region, Standard Bank.
“We want to build a network of branches in Nigeria where customers are offered the right services. Our target is to have the best branch network where quality and efficient service delivery is second to none,” said Mali.
The new branch is expected to accommodate the growing need for full financial services in the university community and its environs, Abiodun Gbadamosi, head of customer channels at Stanbic IBTC Bank, said, even as he assured Kano residents of Stanbic IBTC Bank’s resolve to continue to provide quality services. The bank has plans to establish more branches across the country as it expands its operations, he said.
“Stanbic IBTC Bank currently has over 180 branches nationwide. Our retail banking business operates a network of over 2,500 mobile money agents and we are succeeding in taking banking services to the under-banked. Stanbic IBTC would not only be focused on attracting the unbanked population though; we are also poised to create products targeted at customers who may be banked but unhappy with their banks,” he said.
Abiodun assured that Stanbic IBTC Bank will continue to draw on the expertise, experience and rich heritage of the Standard Bank Group to proffer bespoke financial solutions to its customers and Kano residents as it deepen its retail banking drive. “The university community is a major business hub in Kano and it is imperative that we offer the right kind of services to our customers in that location in a very efficient manner,” he said.
Stanbic IBTC Bank is a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings plc, a full service financial services group with a clear focus on three main business pillars – corporate and investment banking, personal and business banking and wealth management.
