Nigerian-owned messaging App, SoftTalk Messenger, is empowering African content creators with a new monetisation programme that rewards engagement and community building, while preserving users’ privacy.
Simple Azenabor, a Japan-based Nigerian software engineer, developed the SoftTalk Messenger.
Azenabor, in a statement made available to BusinessDay in Benin City, said SoftTalk Messenger was fast positioning itself as Africa’s answer to global messaging giants, combining secure communication with income-generating opportunities for creators.
The Software engineer, while introducing the monetisation programme, said that the group administrators and digital community leaders could also earn directly from audience engagement through the SoftTalk Creator Partner Program.
According to him, “SoftTalk Messenger, the Nigerian-owned messaging app redefining digital communication, is making waves with its creator-first monetisation program and privacy-enhanced features.
“SoftTalk Messenger is rapidly becoming the go-to platform for creators seeking income, independence, and impact.
“SoftTalk Messenger’s Creator Partner Program rewards creators for building active, engaging group chats. With earnings based on engagement scores, calculated monthly; creators can now turn conversations into sustainable income by joining the SoftTalk Creator Program.
“You create. You engage. You deserve to earn. SoftTalk Creator Partner is built to honour the value creators bring to digital communities.”
On the platform’s privacy-first communication, the developer noted that, unlike traditional messaging platforms, SoftTalk Messenger allows users to chat and call without revealing their phone numbers.
He disclosed that this is achieved by using usernames, noting that both creators and users alike enjoy enhanced privacy and protection from spam and identity breaches.
He also added that the SoftTalk Messenger is designed with African users in mind, solving long-standing challenges in communication, commerce, and now content creator monetisation.
“From secure messaging to marketplace tools, the app empowers users to find and meet new friends, trade, and grow without borders.
“Text, voice, and video calls; Marketplace buy and sell products and services; utility bill payments, mobile data and airtime purchases, and Community building and monetization,” he said.
On how creators can earn without middlemen, he explained that, “For creators, SoftTalk Messenger introduces a game-changing advantage and direct monetisation.”
He further stated that on many global platforms, African creators are forced to rely on foreign third-party agencies or managers to receive earnings where they often lose a cut in the process.
According to him, SoftTalk eliminates the barrier where African creators are forced to rely on foreign third parties by allowing the creators to earn and keep 100% directly from their engagement, with no intermediaries.
“Whether you’re running a virtual classroom, old schoolmates, a mentor guiding young professionals, Religion and Faith-Based Communities, NGOs and Volunteer Teams, Clubs and Interest Groups or if you’re building a space where people connect, share ideas and information, learn, and grow, you’re a creator. And we want to reward you for it on the SoftTalk platform.
“SoftTalk Messenger is available on both Apple and Android platforms and does not require a phone number or other personal sensitive details to join,” he stated.
Azenabor added that the SoftTalk Creator Partner Program requires a minimum of 100 group participants.
