Real Madrid booked their place in the Copa del Rey final after a thrilling 5-4 aggregate win against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Tuesday.
Antonio Rudiger settled the entertaining tie with a towering header in the 115th minute, setting up a final showdown against either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Real Sociedad took an early lead through Ander Barrenetxea, but Endrick responded with a stunning chip to pull Madrid level.
A David Alaba own goal and a Mikel Oyarzabal deflected strike gave La Real a two-goal cushion, but Los Blancos roared back with goals from Jude Bellingham and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Oyarzabal’s late equalizer forced extra time, but Madrid proved relentless, with Rüdiger’s decisive goal sealing their place in the final.
Rüdiger elated with Real Madrid comeback
“I’m very happy because it was a really hard game with many comebacks and, in the end, my goal,” Rüdiger told Real Madrid TV.
“It’s a hard season, but we’re in another final, and we will win it.”
Ancelotti rotates as Endrick shines again
Carlo Ancelotti started Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, opting to rest Kylian Mbappé, with Endrick leading the line in an all-Brazilian attack.
The 18-year-old wonderkid, who scored the only goal in the first leg, continued his fine form, producing a spectacular lobbed finish for his fifth Copa del Rey goal of the season.
Who will face Madrid in the final?
Barcelona visit Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, with their last-four tie finely poised after a 4-4 first-leg thriller.
