In the month of February 2015, the trio of Rencap Securities (Nigeria) Limited, CSL Stockbrokers Limited, and Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited outshined other stockbroking firms in the volume and value of deals they accounted for at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
Other stockbroking firms that played big in terms of volume as shown in the brokers report are EFCP Limited, ARM Securities Limited, FBN Securities Limited, African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited, Cordros Capital Limited, Partnership Securities Limited, and Apel Asset Limited.
These 10 stockbroking firms accounted for 58.23 percent or 9.009 billion units traded in the trading month under review.
Details of the report show that Rencap Securities (Nigeria) Limited accounted for 2.328 billion units or 15.05 percent of the total volume of stocks traded at the nation’s bourse; CSL Stockbrokers Limited (1.715bn units or 11.09%); Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited (1.490bn units or 9.63%), and EFCP Limited (890.183m units or 5.75%).
Also, ARM Securities Limited accounted for 566.703 million units or 3.66 percent; FBN Securities Limited (442.845m units or 2.86%); African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited (440.833m units or 2.85%); Cordros Capital Limited (426.771m units or 2.76%); Partnership Securities Limited (375.771m units or 2.43%), and Apel Asset Limited (331.812m units or 2.14%).
Except ARM Securities Limited and Cordros Capital Limited, other firms earlier named also accounted for reasonable percentage of the value of deals at the nation’s bourse last month.
Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited and Vetiva Capital Management Limited replaced ARM Securities Limited and Cordros Capital Limited in the list of stockbrokers who were responsible for N133.435 billion worth of deals, representing 72.51 percent of the total value of stocks traded at the NSE last month.
