Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, is leading a Nigerian Delegation to the 11th Extra-ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) to among other things discus critical issues of reforms and security in the continent, scheduled between November 14 and 18 at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
A statement issued by the Spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, George Ehidiamen Edokpa, made available to BusinessDay, noted that key issues in the agenda include; Review of the African Union Institutional Reforms Process; Financing of the Union; General Overview of Partnership and the mandate of the AU Development Agency( AUDA); Africa Peer Review Mechanism(APRM) and Strengthening of the Political and Security Council.

The statement added that the Executive Council of the Extra-ordinary Session is scheduled between 14th and 15th November, 2018, while the General Assembly is expected to hold between 17th and 18th November.
The statement added that Nigeria is committed to the reform process of the AU and is expected to engage in fruitful discussions at the summit.
