Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed her delight after completing a sensational move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Féminine on a contract running until June 30, 2027.
“Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is delighted to announce the arrival of Nigerian striker Rasheedat Busayo Ajibade, who has joined the club on a deal that runs until 30th June 2027,” the club confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
Speaking after her unveiling in Paris, Ajibade, fondly known as “Mummy G.O.”, described the transfer as a defining moment in her career.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe,” the 2018 WAFCON champion told PSG’s official website. “This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
The 25-year-old forward joins PSG from Atlético Madrid Femenino, where she spent four and a half seasons, scoring 40 goals in 139 appearances. During her time in Spain, she helped Atlético lift the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina while contributing eight goals and three assists in 25 matches last season.
Her move to France comes just weeks after helping Nigeria to a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Ivory Coast, where she was voted Player of the Tournament.
