Holders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made a dominant start to their UEFA Champions League title defence with a 4-0 victory over Atalanta at the Parc des Princes.
Captain Marquinhos set the tone with a third-minute opener before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead with a superb solo strike.
PSG could have stretched their advantage further, but Bradley Barcola saw a penalty saved by Marco Carnesecchi just before the break.
Luis Enrique’s side extended their control after half-time, with Nuno Mendes smashing in the third and substitute Gonçalo Ramos capitalising on a defensive error in stoppage time to seal the win.
The European champions now turn their attention to group clashes against Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen in October, while Atalanta will aim to bounce back at home to Club Brugge later this month.
