The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged armed robbery attack in Nasarawa town, recovering a locally fabricated firearm and a stolen motorcycle.
The suspects, identified as Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, were arrested by operatives attached to the Nasarawa Division for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
According to a press Release signed by Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, on Sunday in Lafia, the suspects allegedly attacked in the early hours of December 20, 2025, at about 12:10 a.m.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects, armed with a locally fabricated firearm, attacked a resident of Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, Nasarawa, and dispossessed him of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle,” Nansel said in a statement.

He explained that the suspects were arrested following timely information received by the police, which enabled operatives to trail and apprehend them.
“During the operation, one locally fabricated firearm and the stolen Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
“The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has charged officers and men of the command to remain proactive and vigilant in the discharge of their duties”; the spokesperson added.
Nansel said the police commissioner also assured residents of Nasarawa State of the command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security during the Yuletide season.
“The command remains resolute in its determination to protect lives and property and will not relent in its efforts to rid the state of criminal elements,” he said.
