The Oyo State Government has commenced strategic preparations for the 2025 fiscal year with a comprehensive training programme for top officers of the Thirty-three (33) Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the State.
The four-day training, held at the Local Government Staff Training School, State Secretariat, Ibadan, was designed to align the LGAs’ budgeting processes with the National Chart of Accounts (NCOA), ensuring transparency, accountability, and standardization across all the Councils.
Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters speaking at the event, commended the proactive steps taken by the current administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde.
He emphasised that the training reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to good governance and effective service delivery at the grassroots level.

The training is expected to enhance the capacity of local government officials and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the 2025 budgets in line with national standards.
Musbau Babatunde, Professor and the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to fostering good governance and harmonized budget practices throughout the state, particularly at the grassroots level.
Ayuba Onifade, the lead consultant praised both Ministries for their roles in actualising the training initiative.
He noted that the programme focused on equipping local government officers with the skills needed to prepare the 2025 budget using a standardised format aligned with the NCOA.
