Chief Clement Ofuani has urged delegates and Deltans to critically assess all governorship aspirants based on the strength of their vision, integrity, character, accountability and stability, as the position of the Chief Executive of Delta State is too important for less consideration.
He noted that all Deltans, irrespective of their ethnic and cultural affinity want a leader who would treat them with dignity, respecting their comfort and convenience, stressing that his three point plan for the State, is a product of three years of reflections on the problems in the State and strategizing effective and workable solutions to the challenges.
Speaking on his three-point plan of value re-orientation, business competitiveness, and security (social security, food security, security of lives and properties), Ofuani noted that execution and implementation of economically viable projects in Delta State would not need to place undue pressure on the State’s resources and federal allocation saying “ several critical infrastructure in the State could be developed with a strong private sector partnership without undue reliance on public revenue as the viability of the projects can be demonstrated to attract investments”.

Chief Ofuani, who is one of the 22 governorship aspirants to have picked the expression of interest and nomination forms under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), said this during a media chat with journalists at the weekend.
He noted that the ad-hoc delegates elected under the PDP in various wards in the State, were highly intelligent people who would not abuse the confidence reposed in them by the party members, leaders and stake-holders.
“the delegates are very reasonable people and they know that the decision they make will determine the future of their children, and indeed Delta as a whole. I know they will make responsible decisions, because they know the enormity of the burdens on their shoulders and the consequences of a wrong decision.”
On his chances of winning, he said, “I represent a strong brand and I am very confident in my chances of winning because irrespective of other factors, our sense of decency, and the desire of Deltans for a better State and a brighter future will overpower these other factors.
He assured Deltans that irrespective of perceptions and mistrust for politicians borne out of historical experience, he has demonstrated in his public and private sector service records that he can be trusted to be firm and fair, saying “I come to you with my impeccable record both in public and private service, to serve as your humble servant”.
