Presidency has dispelled rumours that George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has been appointed the new Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Bayo Onanuga, Presidential Spokesman, in a statement on Saturday night, said the President has yet to make such an appointment.
” There has been no change in the status of His Excellency, Senator George Akume, as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

” President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently in Saint Lucia, has not made any new appointments.”
He therefore described the information circulating about Akume’s replacement as untrue.
“Agents of mischief fabricated it.”
The Presidency advised Nigerians to disregard the fake news.
