Muoghalu was in Badagry for the closing ceremony of a 2-day workshop on ‘Safe Handling of Small Craft for Ferry Operators and Services,’ organised by NIWA in collaboration with Simptop Ventures, Lagos.
“We are concerned about safety on our waterways. We will do everything to ensure our waterways are safe and navigable all year round,” he said while appealing to stakeholders to imbibe safety measures in their operations.
Akeem Sekoni Balogun, boat operator along Badore, Ajah and Ijorodu area of Lagos, said the training will help to deepen the technical know-how of boat operators in Lagos.
According to Balogun, the workshop exposes participants to best practices in customers’ relation and everything about safety. ‘This training is about safety.’
