Being on top is what every businessman desires. It confers bragging rights and some level of prestige. It also makes access to credit and other facilities easy.
The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC)’s list of performing exporters reveals players that are on top of the trade as well as the products with which they are making waves. The list, comprising 529 companies, incorporates big shots in the export market.
The NEPC’s latest list is on the alphabetical order. It must be stressed that being in the alphabetical order does not indicate position. First on the list is 3F Nigeria Impex Limited, exporter of cashew nuts. This is followed by A.E Multilinks Limited, exporter of rubber, and then A.S Numan Merchandise Nigeria Limited, based in Bompai, Kano.
A.S Numan, exports ginger, sesame seeds, hibiscus flowers, Sheba (Spirogyera), and Oliban( Boswellia Caretarii).
This is followed by AA Africa Limited, rubber exporter, based in Ilorin, Kwara State, and then AAKKAYZ Resources Limited, based in Lagos, which exports cocoa beans, copper ingots, manganese ore, lead ingots and wood products.
Aamina Commodities Limited, exporter of Gum Arabic, is next, while Aarti Steel Nigeria Limited, a galvanized iron corrugated sheets and iron plain sheets exporter, comes after. This exporter, based in Lagos, is a member of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Group (MANEG) and one of the respected players in the export space.

Abdul Sakami Ayinla Limited, based in Lagos, is next. This firm is an exporter of electrical cables, wash basins, nails, rubber hoses, hair attachments, slippers and rubber thread, among others. Abel Bellvic J. Nigeria Limited also features on the list, with its rubber being shipped to countries in West Africa and beyond.
Ayafa Concepts Limited, 60th on the alphabetical order, based in Kano, exports finished leather. Ayoola Foods Nigeria Limited is next, as it exports processed food products and food stuffs to several markets. The British American Tobacco Nigeria Limited, based in Lagos, is 98th on the list. This firm is a key exporter of cigarettes. Cadbury Nigeria plc, a Lagos-based confectioneries exporter, comes next. Crown Flour Mills Limited, based in Lagos, is 120th on the alphabetical order, exporting instant noodles and wheat.
From 124 to 128 come the Dangote Group, comprising Dangote Agrosacks, Dangote Flour Mills, Dangote Pasta Limited, Dangote Sugar Refinery and Dansa Food Processing Company Limited. These export macaroni, spaghetti, sugar, wheat flour, spray powder and noodles, among others.
De-United Foods Industries Limited is 130th on the alphabetical order. This company exports Indomie noodles, ginger and turmeric, among others. Deepak Singhal, managing director, had said export of Indomie to West Africa and other markets in 2013 reached $50 million.
Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, based in Lagos, is a key exporter of high quality drugs and rubber. Flour Mills of Nigeria plc, key exporter of wheat products, noodles and other products, is 181st on the alphabetical order. Glaxosmithkline Consumer Nigeria, based in Lagos, plc is 199th on the list. This company exports finished leather and health care products, according to the NEPC.
Guinness Nigeria plc, 212th on the list, exports lead ore, topaz and drinks such as stout. Kolorkote Nigeria Limited , based in Ogun State, is 263rd. This firm exports palm kernel expeller meals and aluminium coils. May& Baker is 295th on the list. The firm, which recently got the World Health Organisation (WHO) pre-qualification, was acknowledged for its export exploits in rubber and noodles, to other markets.
Furthermore, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals plc is 325th on the list. The company exports aluminium ingots, copper ingots and pharmaceutical products. Nigerian Breweries plc is 333rd. The drinks maker exports Maltina, Star, Gulder and roofing sheets, according to the NEPC.
Oando plc , 343rd on the list, exports processed wood, lubricants and lubes products, according to the NEPC. Olam Nigeria Limited is 352nd on the list. This firm is known for export of cocoa beans, cotton, sesame seeds, cocoa cake, cashew kernel, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, milk powder and ginger. Sapele Integrated Industries Limited, 430th on the list, exports rubber, cocoa beans and sesame beans. Unilever Nigeria plc, 498th on the list, exports detergent powder, toothpaste and cornstarch, among others.
