The Nigerian government has advised the citizens in Kuwait and Bahrain to remain vigilant and follow official safety guidance as tensions rise in the region.
In a circular dated March 1, 2026, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Kuwait, which also covers Bahrain, urged Nigerians in both countries to stay calm, monitor developments closely and comply with instructions issued by host authorities.

The advisory comes amid what the embassy described as “prevailing circumstances in the region”, though it did not specify particular incidents. The message, addressed to Nigerian nationals, stressed the need for caution and strict observance of safety guidelines issued by Kuwaiti and Bahraini officials.
“The embassy wishes to advise all Nigerian nationals in both countries to remain vigilant, observe safety guidelines, advisories from the host governments, and remain calm at all times,” the statement said.
The embassy said it is closely monitoring the situation and remains in contact with leaders of Nigerian communities across both countries. It encouraged citizens to follow local news and official government announcements to stay informed.

To strengthen communication, the embassy has set up a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp line for Nigerians seeking updates or assistance. Citizens can also reach the mission through its official email and are encouraged to join a support group created by the embassy.

The notice was signed by the Embassy of Nigeria in Kuwait.
While no immediate threat was outlined, the advisory reflects heightened concern among diplomatic missions in the Gulf as regional tensions continue to unfold.
