NHEF postpones 2017 conference
Organisers of the National Higher Education Forum (NHEF) regret to announce the postponement of the 2017 Forum by one week. The event was originally scheduled to hold December 5 and 6, at the NICON Luxury, Abuja, but it will now hold December 12 and 13, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja. The postponement is due to circumstances beyond our control.
National Higher Education Forum is a multi-sectoral platform design for regular, productive engagements of key higher education stakeholders, education thought-leaders, innovators, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, et cetera in search of sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s higher education challenges and pursuit of greater prosperity for the nation.
Over 25 knowledgeable speakers had confirmed their participation at the Forum, among whom are: Mallam Adamu Adamu, honourable Minister of Education; Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, honourable Minister of Budget & National Planning; Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, and Prof. Bart Nnaji, chairman of Geometric Power.
The list includes David Adebimpe, Founder of Polymath Interscience USA; Abubakar Rasheed, executive secretary of National Universities Commission; Bappa-Aliyu Muhammadu, Executive Secretary of National Commission for Colleges of Education; Mas’ud Kazaure, Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education. Others include Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Ibrahim Garba; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Benjamin Ozumba; President of African University of Science & Technology, Abuja, Prof. Kingston Nyamapfene; Director-General of National Teachers Institute; Prof. Kenneth Amaechi of the University of Edinburgh Business School and Ogho Okiti, president of Time Economics, et cetera.
Notwithstanding the postponement, the organisers remain committed to delivering an excellent conference. Interested participants who have not registered for the Forum now have a weeklong opportunity to do so. The theme of the 2017 Forum is “Rethinking Nigeria’s Higher Education: Innovation, Global Engagement and Sustainable Development.” NHEF is being organised by Sojourn Global Services Limited and Time Economics with BusinessDay as the media partner, according to John Osadolor, NHEF media co-ordinator.
