The chairman Trade Union Congress (TUC) Taraba State chapter, Victor Olatunji, has warned against arbitrary increase in prices of commodities by marketers as civil servants patiently awaited the implementation of the new minimum.
This was as the ASCSN Taraba Federal chapter returned Isaac Lingmu as the branch chairman for a four-year tenure.
Olatunji gave the warning in Jalingo over the weekend at the 4th quadrennial delegates conference of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) Taraba Federal Chapter.
Olatunji, who warned that arbitrary increase in the prices of commodities would not only rob workers of the minimal relief from the increase in the national minimum wage, but would also lead to increased suffering in the nation, also advised union leaders to sensitise the marketers.
He applauded the commitment by the Federal Government to ensuring that the implementation of the new minimum wage was achieved within a short time, and urged workers in the state to remain patient.
