The National Economic Council (NEC) meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is currently in session at the Presidential Villa, Abuja .
NEC which is chaired by the Vice President consists of governors of the 36 states and Permanent Secretary (or Minister) of the Federal Capital Territory, is the highest economic advisory body to the President on the economic affairs of the nation.
At its Inaugural Meeting Last Month, the NEC had set up a four man committee consisting governors of Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Edo and Gombe to comb the books of the NNPC, Excess Crude Account as well
as the federation account.
The Committee is expected to brief council on their findings during the meeting.
Some governors at the meeting include: Cross River, Kaduna, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Anambra, Deputy Governor of Imo and Kogi , Gombe, Delta Kano, Lagos, Niger, Adamawa, Ondo Sokoto, Yobe, Osun, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Oyo- Deputy, Plateau, Taraba, Zamfara, Bayelsa.
