Hajarat Danyaro, member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has secured the release of two inmates from the Nasarawa Custodial Centre to mark her 54th birthday.
Danyaro, the only female lawmaker in the State Assembly, disclosed this on Sunday during her birthday celebration at her residence in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
She explained that she paid the fines of the inmates; Mustapha Abubakar and Peace Musa, both indigenes of Nasarawa LGA, to facilitate their release.
The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, said the freed inmates would be reunited with their families immediately after the celebration.
“As you can see, officials of the Nasarawa Correctional Centre are here with the inmates.
“I have paid their fines and secured their release. They are now free to return to society and reunite with their families,” she said.
Danyaro advised the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of their families and the society, urging them not to return to actions that could land them back in custody.
“Please do not go back to what took you to prison,” she admonished.
The lawmaker thanked God for His protection and guidance over her life and prayed for sound health and greater achievements in the years ahead.
She also expressed appreciation to friends, associates and well-wishers who celebrated with her, praying God to bless them abundantly.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the celebrant’s mother, Maryam Danyaro, offered prayers for her daughter and symbolically fed her with the birthday cake.
