Africa Hyperscalers is set to host an executive breakfast session aimed at shaping the future of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in Nigeria, with a focus on growth, competition, and market collaboration.
In the second quarter of 2023, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) issued 43 MVNO licences to improve service coverage, particularly in underserved areas. The initiative was designed to foster competition in the telecom sector and expand consumer choice. The MVNO framework includes five operational tiers, each with different licensing fees and scopes.

The upcoming forum, according to the organisers, will feature an in-depth discussion on the NCC’s MVNO licensing framework, addressing compliance requirements and openly confronting the tensions between MVNOs and their host network providers.
“Aside from licenses, MVNOs in Nigeria need trust, clarity, and alignment with host operators, regulators, funders, and partners. This forum is designed to solve, not just to speak,” Africa Hyperscalers said in a statement.
