‘We must rescue Kogi from APC misrule’
National publicity secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has urged all party leaders in Kogi State not to relent until the state is rescued from the misrule of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ologbondiyan stated this on Wednesday when the immediate past governor of the state, Idris Wada, paid him a courtesy visit at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
The PDP spokesman lamented that the level of governance in the state is abysmally low and the indigenes have become worse off since the APC administration came on board.
“Our dear Kogi State is in tatters. Our people are hungry. They are sick and cannot afford to go to the hospital. Death by suicide is on the increase, as workers can no longer earn their entitlements as at when due.
“Kogi State is far worse than where you (Wada) left it. We must join hands to rescue our state,” he said.
Ologbondiyan challenged all party leaders to intensify the campaign of marketing PDP in their respective domains, as according to him, “we must begin to re-invent PDP in Kogi state and structure it towards winning the next election and rescue our people.”
In his remarks, Wada – the immediate past governor of the state – noted that since Ologbondiyan assumed office as the spokesman of the party, he has successfully changed the poor public perception of the party.
The former governor said his visit was to personally encourage the PDP spokesman on the good job he is doing.
He noted that since he left office, Kogi State had been in the news for the wrong reasons.
Wada recalled that his administration had a 10-year template that would have transformed the state, but regretted that the present administration had stagnated the state.
The former governor was however, optimistic that PDP would reclaim the state is abysmally low and the indigenes have become worse off since the APC administration came on board.
