“Passengers are strongly urged to channel any grievances through appropriate and lawful means, as outlined by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs). The airport management reiterated its commitment to taking decisive legal action, including prosecution and potential inclusion on “no-fly” lists, against anyone found to be in violation of these regulations,” Jibodu said.
The King, Henry Chika, a purser with ValuJet Airlines, and Queen, Aisha Yakub, a flight attendant with XEjet are ambassadors of professionalism and exemplary conduct in Nigeria’s aviation sector, were received at MMA2.
Their visit underscored the importance of a harmonious and respectful environment for all stakeholders within the airport ecosystem.
In his remarks, Jibodu, welcomed and congratulated the King and Queen, noting the symbolic significance of their roles. “We are pleased to welcome the King and Queen of the Air to MMA2 and celebrate their achievements. Beyond their individual wins, the pageant, as is customary, serves as a unifying platform for the aviation industry. It reminds us of the shared values that bind us together: safety, professionalism, and respect. He added, “We are especially proud that the two airlines represented by the King and Queen are ones we hold in high esteem.
Both airlines are our partners in the prestigious Premium Departure Concierge Service at MMA2, and their involvement reinforces the quality and standard we strive to maintain in collaboration with all our stakeholders.”
Fortune Idu, the organiser of the NIGAV Awards and the visionary behind the King and Queen of the Air platform lauded BASL’s hospitality and ongoing support for initiatives that elevate industry standards.
“This platform was created to empower cabin crew members and give them visibility on key issues. We are proud to see how it continues to inspire and unify the aviation community,” he said.
During the visit, the King and Queen engaged in meaningful conversations with BASL executives, aligning strongly with the organization’s Zero Tolerance for Violence policy. Discussions centered on the rising incidents of unruly passengers and the need for multi-stakeholder advocacy to curb the trend and reinforce the values of respect and safety in aviation.
Reacting to this, Jibodu said “BASL has consistently maintained a firm policy against any form of violence, vandalism, or disruptive conduct within its premises.
