Manchester United have reportedly identified Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the club’s primary target for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.
The 26-year-old Nigerian goal poacher, currently on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, is expected to be sold at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Osimhen has a €75 million release clause in his contract, which United are prepared to activate in their bid to solve their persistent goal-scoring woes.
Osimhen’s Premier League ambition aligns with United’s priority
Despite Galatasaray’s interest in signing the prolific forward permanently, reports suggest that Osimhen favours a move to the English Premier League. With 28 goals and five assists in 32 appearances this season, the Nigerian striker has been in blistering form, making him an attractive option for United.

Napoli are believed to be interested in United winger Alejandro Garnacho, and a potential swap deal could be on the cards to reduce the fee. Garnacho has attracted the attention of several European clubs following his impressive breakthrough, and United may be willing to include him in negotiations to land Osimhen.
United’s goal-scoring struggles continue
Manchester United’s lack of firepower has been evident this season. They currently sit 13th in the Premier League standings after a goalless draw in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Red Devils have managed just 37 goals in 31 league games—only five Premier League teams have scored fewer.
Both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have underperformed in front of goal, with manager Ruben Amorim reportedly unconvinced by either option. The urgency to sign a proven No. 9 has intensified, and Osimhen’s profile fits the bill.
Osimhen’s goal-scoring pedigree, physicality, and experience in European competitions make him a prime candidate to lead the line.
As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether United can beat the competition to secure the Nigerian star’s signature.
