Nigeria’s minister of state for petroleum resources (oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has lauded Caverton Helicopters for its contributions to the country’s aviation industry, describing the company as a leader and pacesetter.
Lokpobiri gave the commendation during a facility tour of Caverton’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) training centre at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on April 2.
The minister said the company’s investment and state-of-the-art facilities have placed it on par with global aviation standards, reinforcing its role as a key player in Nigeria’s aviation and oil and gas sectors.
“I have seen training centres abroad, and I can attest that Caverton stands out. Caverton is a pacesetter,” Lokpobiri said. “I am also happy to hear that pilots trained here are gainfully employed abroad. Whatever is needed to support our partnership will be done.”
He also commended Caverton for maintaining a zero-casualty record in its operations.

During the visit, the minister was received by Caverton’s leadership team, including its chairman, Aderemi Makanjuola, and its chief executive officer, Olabode Makanjuola.
Aderemi Makanjuola welcomed Lokpobiri, stating that Caverton remains committed to innovation and expansion. “We are a proudly Nigerian company, and our exploits continue to attract attention. We look forward to collaborating with you to support Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.”
Olabode Makanjuola noted that Caverton holds over 70 percent of the market share in Nigeria’s offshore aviation logistics sector, providing services to major oil companies such as Shell, Chevron, Total, and NNPC.
He highlighted the importance of logistics in achieving Nigeria’s oil production target of 2 million barrels per day, aligning with the federal government’s ambition under President Bola Tinubu.
“Our investments in MRO facilities, hangars, and training centres position us to support this vision effectively. We are eager to partner with the Ministry of Petroleum and agencies such as the NCDMB to strengthen local content participation and development,” he said.
Caverton also plans to embark on a strategic investment drive to attract investors and expand its operational capacity, reinforcing its role as a key player in Nigeria’s aviation and energy sectors.
