Your performance at the MUSON/MTNF concert was awesome, how did you get to this point?
I will honestly say that the two years I spent in the MUSON under the MTNF scholarship was very key to me because, for those two years I had good instruction good teachers and colleagues who kept pushing me for more and the conducive environment with the help of MUSON and MTN. I believe this is great music. The music our artistes churn out is really good music especially the MTN foundation ambassadors, and indeed it is of great standard. Live music is essential for promoting culture.
What really happens in MUSON?
MUSON is a member society and a few people came together and set up MUSON. We have the likes of Akintola Williams. We have members who subscribe annually and get to see CALSSICAL concerts, musicals and the basic school were we teach younger ones. These young ones grow to join the diploma school.
How national or international has MUSON grew?
Internationally they have got higher qualifications. Like the group I was in, we went to perform in china and few years later the younger ones went to Italy, Germany and London. We have lots of alumni outside the country, as the only African country. MUSON diploma is known by ABRSM as a standard for international degrees.
After here where next?
Right now I am recording and I have two singles out. I teach and perform music. I had the chance of performing in London last summer; I am looking forward to performing in jazz festivals abroad.
What instrument is your strength?
Saxophone and this is my best exposure to good environment so far.
