It is another year to celebrate excellence, originality, and innovation among players in Nigeria and West Africa’s creative industry as the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN, rolls out the carpets for the LAIF awards on November 29, 2025, to honour outstanding creative works in the creative eco-system.
This year, the award category is expanded to include non-AAAN members, and this makes the Lagos Ideas Festival, which clocks 20 years, more embracing and richer to elevate ideas in Nigeria.
LAIF award is basically a healthy competition among agencies that have done remarkable work over the period of a year, judged by a panel of jurors.
At the unveiling of the 2025 edition with the theme: 20 years of crazy, Lanre Adisa, AAAN president, who was represented by his vice, Adekoyejo Abiola, congratulated the LAIF award board led by Jay Chukwuemeka for elevating laif award over the period.

He recalled that 20 years ago, the award was birthed out of a bold vision to celebrate and elevate creativity within the Nigerian marketing communications industry, and to celebrate and establish a credible, proudly Nigerian platform of peer recognition and industry benchmark.
“Today, two decades on, laif has grown to become West Africa’s most prestigious creative showcase, a stage where ideas meet excellence, and bold thinking meets reward. The journey has been one of continuous growth, and more importantly, consistent relevance. Laif has championed the best work of our industry”, Lanre said.
He described Laif as a forum for peer review, one of the most powerful mechanisms for creative involvement and professional growth. “ In an industry driven by ideas, an opportunity to be assessed, inspired and challenged by one’s peers is invaluable”.
Awards like laif are not just about celebrations, they’re about reflection, learning and aspiration, he said.

In his speech, Jay Chukwuemeka said this year marks a truly momentous occasion for the industry. “We are celebrating our 20th anniversary and the two decades of recognising and championing the very best in creativity.
Chukwuemeka said the theme for this year perfectly encapsulates the bold ideas and the relentless pursuit of excellence that has defined laif since inception.
The Laif Awards 2025, holding at Marriott Hotels, Ikeja, will be marked with pomp and pageantry and honour for visionaries and trailblazers in the industry.
