Electorates across Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State are yet to cast their votes as delay of key voting materials stall the commencement of the electoral process.
BusinessDay observed that polling units 014, 033, 044 and 012 have the presence of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) officials but accreditation is yet to commence.
This is as voter turnout was abysmally low. Voters say further delay could result in frustration, potentially disallowing them from exercising their constitutional rights.

One of the voters, Jamiu Adeleye, said he’s been at the polling unit since 8 am, but as the time of filing this report, the 38-year-old trader is yet to cast his vote.
Babatunde Oladimeji, one of All Progressive Congress (APC) agents who spoke to BusinessDay considered the delay “unusual”, adding that though delays are inevitable, but at this stretch, voters may begin to “lament”.
Reports show that voting activities have begun across local governments in Lagos as Lagosians take to the polls to elect their representatives at the grassroots levels. But with delays in some polling units, the election could record a significant voter apathy.
