In continuation of the ongoing railway mondernisation project, Lagos State government is closing Jibowu-Yaba level crossing to traffic on Friday, February 21, 2020.
The closure will last till Saturday, February 22, from 6:00pm to 12:00pm to allow for the installation of level crossing rubber panels on the rail track.
As an alternative, motorists plying the Jibowu level crossing would be diverted to Ilupeju, Ogunmokun to connect their destinations.
Similarly, Jonathan Coker Street at Fagba, will also be closed on Thursday, February 20, 2020. The street will remain closed till the following day, Friday, 21, 2020 from 8:00pm to 6:00am to allow for the installation of rubber panels on the rail track.
According to a statement from the public affairs unit of the state ministry of transportation, motorists plying Jonathan Coker axis will be diverted to the Ashade, Toyin and Adejobi Level Crossing to get to their destinations.
The statement said closure is slated at this time, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of work on the rail tracks.
The state government, therefore, appealed to the residents especially motorists that ply these corridors to bear the pains, as the project was aimed at achieving a seamless multi-modal transport system that would meet the transportation need of a larger population.
