Miller Dantawaye, commissioner of Police, Kogi State headquarters, has disclosed that the command has arrested 582 suspects, comprising 157 suspected kidnappers; 102 suspected armed robbers; 28 suspects of homicide, 38 in connection with unlawful possession of firearms; seven connected with rape, six alleged cultists and 168 others. He said these were his notable achievements since he assumed office.
Dantawaye disclosed this while interacting with journalists in Lokoja, adding that the command has dismantled criminal networks, rescued kidnapped victims, recovered eight AK 47 riffles; one AK 49; seven locally-made pistols, 11 dane guns, 407 rounds of ammunition, 10 magazines baretta pistols, seven live cartridge, one Sharon car and two Bajaj motorcycles.
During the event, the Nigeria Police Force, Kogi Command and the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) pledged unwavering commitment to strengthening existing police and media relations to foster a stronger working collaboration and enhance accurate reporting of police activities.
The CP commended the media for its role in shaping public perception and ensuring accountability. He urged them to remain professional in their role which is critical in building a safer Kogi State.

Danwataye assured of the command’s open door and accessibility, while urging journalists to remain professional in their reports and promote harmony in the state.
Reiterating his unwavering commitment to strengthening the relationship between the police and media in the area of information sharing, as he urged them to sharpen their power of observation and report any suspicious activity and movement for prompt action, the CP stressed that security was a collective responsibility and that all hands must be on deck to achieve a safe and secured society.
He equally emphasised the need for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and other stakeholders, stressing that effective media relations was vital for the command to maintain a positive image, secure public support and showcase its achievements.
Segun Salami, chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, while making his remarks, commended the leadership style of the commissioner of police, noting that the engagement will foster a stronger working relationship between the police and media, build mutual trust, strengthen security and media relations and promote societal harmony.
He disclosed that the chapel remained committed to supporting the efforts of the police in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
He stressed that the engagement offered opportunity to the chapel to strengthen the level of collaboration with the command, assuring of accurate reporting of police activities and incidents.
