Agbu Kefas,Taraba State governor, has donated security fleets worth billions of naira to Military as an effective strategy to tackle insecurity in the State.
The governor has also finalised arrangements for establishment of drone stations to secure the State’s communities and it’s borders through surveillance.
During the handover of the specialised equipment at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army 6 Brigade in Jalingo, Taraba State capital, the governor reinstated his commitment to security and well-being of the people in the State.
He stated that a security guarantee environment is the only way for human and capital development.
The governor further disclosed that investing in security sector is a cornerstone of his administration’s strategy to secure the State’s communities, waterways, and airspace.
Stating that his commitment to providing continuous support for security agencies can not be compromised, he said, “Under my administration, security will continue to receive priority, it is very paramount to our administration because believe with a guaranteed secured environment, people have the freedom to bring about development within their various areas.”
The security gadgets and weapons donated includes specialised equipment such as mine-resistant vehicles, armoured gun trucks and patrol gunboats.
BusinessDay reports that the idea to procure the security fleets were convinced during separate meetings between the Governor and the Chief of Defence Operations and Major General Emeka Onumajuru.
