Kano State Executive Council has approved N780 million for the continuation of projects in various sectors in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting on Thursday in Kano.
Garba explained that N60 million was approved for the procurement of chairs and desks for schools by the Ministry of Education.
Garba also said that 37 junior Secondary schools would be upgraded to Senior Secondary Schools and 66 new Junior Secondary Schools would be constructed.
The commissioner said that N137 million was approved to boost water supply in Bichi town, and in addition link Watari water supply with National grid.
“N33 million was awarded for the Ministry of Health to continue with the polio eradication programme in the state.
“Also, N198 million has been awarded for the continuation of Health partnership with Dangote Group and Bill and Melinda Gate,” he said.
Garba said that the state executive council also approved N149 million for the completion of Zoo road Hospital in the metropolis.
The commissioner said that N14 million was awarded for Abubakar Rimi Television, while Radio Kano was allocated N16 million for the provision of new equipment.
