He said the engagement of the watchmen reflects the government’s priority of safeguarding students, teachers, and school infrastructure. The governor added that effective teaching and learning can only thrive in a secure atmosphere, noting that the newly posted watchmen are expected to play a frontline role in protecting school premises, monitoring unauthorized activities, and supporting the smooth running of academic programmes.
In the same vein, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed that education remains the top priority of his administration, announcing fresh investments in school safety, staffing, infrastructure, and learning materials as part of a broader reform agenda.
The Governor highlighted the recent recruitment of 400 Mathematics teachers to strengthen manpower and improve teaching quality across public secondary schools. He described the appointments as a key component of efforts to restore excellence in Kano’s education sector.
He emphasised that his administration is rebuilding the education system through strategic policy reforms, expanded recruitment, enhanced supervision, and continuous professional training for education personnel.
The Governor also commended the Commissioner of Education and the leadership of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) for their commitment to implementing the government’s programmes.
He assured residents that more reforms and investments are underway to improve learning outcomes and guarantee a better future for children in the state.
