The Junior Chamber International Nigeria on Sunday announced the names of 30 young Nigerians out of 1800 nominees as the search for the ‘Top 10 Outstanding Young Persons’ continues.
The TOYP programme a Junior Chamber International initiative to formally recognise young people who excel in their chosen fields and create positive change had has part of the nominees.
In a ceremony, held at Protea Hotel Victoria Island, Oluwatoyin Atanda Chairperson, JCI TOYP said the award is a recognition to young Nigerians, who are under 40, for their outstanding achievements hard work and exemplary leadership in science, human rights, entrepreneurship and health.
“This year’s search exceeded our expectations, it was tough selecting our top 30, we had long list of young Nigerians who are doing remarkable things in their areas of endeavours and we in JCI strongly believe, by recognising these people, we raise the status of socially responsible leaders in the world and motivate their peers to seek excellence.”
For Adeniyi Balogun, President of JCI Nigeria 2018 urged he urged Nigerian youths to allow their potentials and values inwardly not to be buried under different guises of races, cultural differences and religious differences.
“Youths need to first of all break barrier that hinders us from proper integration, because when people are well integrated, the society will become a healthier place,” he stressed.
