Emirates has announced that it will be resuming Dubai-Lagos–Dubai flights operations on Friday.
Middle East carriers including Emirates, last week suspended operations globally following the airspace closures in the Middle East due to the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The US President Donald Trump described the attacks as a “major combat operation”, forcing airlines to reroute services that would normally cross the region.
After Emirates suspended operations, it said it was actively monitoring developments and engaging with relevant authorities. The airline urged customers to check its travel updates and flight status pages before heading to the airport.

However in a recent message to its trade partners in Nigeria, the Gulf carrier stated, “we will be operating Dubai-Lagos–Dubai flight (EK783 & EK784) flight, 6th March 2026.”
The airline stated that the flight resumption presents a unique opportunity for customers to travel.
The airline encourage passengers to take advantage of this availability to proceed with bookings promptly, as demand is expected to be high.
“Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly.
“The latest flight updates will be published on our website,” the airline stated.
However, sources close to Emirates tell BusinessDay that Emirates may continue to operate skeletal flights pending when the crisis come to an end.
With missiles launched from Israel towards Iran and retaliatory strikes from Iran, carriers have been steering clear of the affected airspace, prompting countries including Iran and Iraq to close their airspace.
The move forced airlines to reroute or cancel numerous services, with Emirates among the carriers affected. Several flights between India, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and North America also faced severe interruptions following the escalated conflict.
