Aramex, a global logistics and transportation company has introduced its easy-access online shopping and shipping delivery service, Shop & Ship (S&S) to boost the growth of e-commerce in Nigeria.
The international shipping solution enables registered members who will be provided with local addresses to shop online from merchants across 23 countries across the world and get their items delivered to Nigeria within three to six working days.
Speaking to members of the press at the official launch of Shop & Ship in Lagos last week, Faisal Jarmakani, Managing Director, Aramex Nigeria, explained that the international shipping solution will further grow e-commerce in Nigeria by eliminating restrictions of direct delivery by online merchants such as Amazon who do not deliver items directly to Nigeria.
“We are committed to serving the needs of the Nigerian market and constantly looking for ways to make online shopping affordable and stress-free. With Shop & Ship, we have addressed the two critical concerns of online shoppers – restriction and speed.
We want this product to be an enabler for Nigeria to also start exporting its products easily and for e-commerce activities to grow,” Jarmakani said.
Also speaking, Samer Hajjar, Regional Manager, Aramex West Africa, said that the shipping solution which is already one of the fastest growing companies in Ghana has continued to thrive as a courier service because it is cost effective compare to other courier services, considering that we only charge N4, 000 per half kilo for the first 0.5kg and N3,000 for subsequent ones, we are fast and we have live tracking functions.
“Upon registration, a unique address in the country you are shopping from will be given to you, this dress is our warehouse in that country where your goods will be delivered to and onward delivery to Nigeria will be processed from our warehouse. The cost of your delivery will be clearly stated before processing, you can then track your delivery and all payments will be made in Naira upon collection of items in Nigeria,” Hajjar said.
On future plans, Jarmakani said; “Aramex is working with payment solutions companies in Nigeria that will allow users to buy Shop & Ship cards that can be used for international online shopping.”
Available in over 80 destinations globally, the S&S service enables members to purchase and ship goods from desired countries spanning across locations in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and United Arab Emirates, which are some of the most popular shopping destinations in the world.
