Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Wednesday announced plans to fence all schools and provide vigilante groups to protect students.
The Governor made the disclosure during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House.
He said the fencing of schools will enhance safety for students and create a conducive learning environment. “With proper security and protection, students will be encouraged to learn effectively and become good ambassadors for the state and the country,” he added.
Governor Mohammed stressed that the government takes pride not in spending money for personal gain, but in using state resources efficiently for the development of Bauchi. “It is not only about the amount of money we receive, but how it is properly used to advance the state,” he said.
He further announced plans to construct hostels and halls in tertiary institutions, build laboratories, and provide other necessary facilities to improve the standard of education in the state.
