Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said he is ready for the presidential debate slated for this evening.
Atiku who stated this while addressing party faithful at the party’s presidential campaign office (Legacy House), Abuja on Saturday after a two-day visit to the United States of America, said he needed to go back home to prepare for the debate billed for 7pm.
He arrived the building around 5:10pm.
Although he was scheduled to address a world press conference after speaking with the supporters, the briefing was abruptly cancelled to give him time to rest for the debate.
The former Vice President, who spoke for less than one minute, thanked jubilant supporters for trooping out en masse to welcome him.
He was accompanied by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and other dignitaries who were part of his delegation to the United States.
Besides Atiku, the other presidential candidates that are expected to participate in the debate are: President Muhammadu Buhari, All Progressives Congress (APC); Oby Ezekwesili, Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN); Kingsley Moghalu, Young Progressives Party (YPP) as well as Fela Durotoye, Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN).
The debate which holds at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, will be transmitted live on all Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) member stations as well as live streaming on all social media platforms.
