To boost the livestock production in Africa’s most populous nation, Oriyon International Limited, an agro-allied group, is set to empower 259,000 youths and women in Kwara State.
In partnership with the Kwara Government, the training was launched through the Economic Empowerment for Women and Youth in Livestock Agriculture (EEWYLA) initiative.
“It will be supported by 174,960 technical personnel, including veterinarians, agronomists, extension officers, and other critical roles across all 36 states of Nigeria,” said Amina Momoh-Orimoloye, founder & chief executive officer of the group.
“EEWYLA initiative will commence in July 2025, marking a significant step forward in transforming the state into a livestock innovation and agribusiness hub,” she explained.

According to her, the programme will train and establish over 259,000 women and youth in livestock entrepreneurship and officially register and recognise agribusinesses.
She noted that the impact will strengthen Nigeria’s livestock value chain, increase traceability and compliance, and open doors to high-value export markets.
“The camp will host intensive livestock agribusiness training programmes designed to equip youths across Kwara State and corps members with the needed tools to become livestock entrepreneurs,” Momoh-Orimoloye added.
She disclosed that Kwara’s National Youth Service Corps camp will serve as a youth-dedicated site for the programme. She noted that the initiative is a convergence of the state and private-sector-led commitment.
“EEWYLA is more than a training programme, it is a structured, end-to-end ecosystem that empowers beneficiaries to become registered livestock entrepreneurs with access to inputs, veterinary support, business incubation, and traceable market access via RumerNG,” she said.

Adding that: “The upcoming Kwara pilot scheme is a cornerstone of a broader national vision to modernise the livestock industry, enhance youth and women participation, and elevate Nigeria’s global standing in animal agriculture.”
According to her, preparations are underway for subsequent launches in Kano and the FCT, while the Yikpata NYSC Camp is preparing to receive the first cohort of beneficiaries this July.
EEWYLA initiative, created and led by Oriyon International, is powered by its blockchain platform RumerNG. It is a nationally endorsed programme backed by the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
