Graham Potter has admitted he is “incredibly disappointed” after being sacked by West Ham United just two days before their Premier League clash with Everton.
The former Chelsea boss was dismissed following a poor run of results, with sources indicating that Nuno Espirito Santo is expected to replace him.
“I am incredibly disappointed to be leaving West Ham United Football Club, particularly without being able to achieve what we set out to achieve at the start of our journey in East London,” Potter said in a statement via the League Managers’ Association (LMA).

“I do, however, fully acknowledge that the results have just not been good enough up to now.”
Potter’s dismissal came after a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace, leaving West Ham in 19th place. His departure marks the club’s hunt for a fourth manager in just 18 months.
West Ham appointed Potter in January after Julen Lopetegui’s short stint came to an end. While Lopetegui managed seven wins from 22 games, Potter oversaw only six victories in 25 matches across all competitions.
The 50-year-old had turned down several offers during his two-year absence from management before accepting the challenge at West Ham, but his tenure has now ended less than nine months later.
