…But promises continued service
Gov Sim Fubara of Rivers State who did not show up on day one of his resumption date has at last taken his seat, but has promised to address the people by 6pm Friday, September 19, 2025.
The governor arrived the Port Harcourt International Airport Friday at noon to a tumultuous crowd that could not allow him to mount the rostrum and address the masses.
He fought his way out of the airport grounds wading through airport community persons called the largest crowd ever witnessed at the airport, yet not sponsored.
At the government house, the governor met another crowd. Inside, he addressed newsmen, promising to do a broadcast at 6pm.
Fubara arrived at the Government House in Port Harcourt, accompanied by his wife, key stakeholders, and security heads. Among those present was his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
On arrival, the governor inspected his official residence and later proceeded to his office.
Speaking to journalists, Gov Fubara expressed gratitude for the warm reception he received at the airport, and the crowd that gathered at the Government House till late the previous day, Thursday, September, 2025, describing it as a display of love and solidarity.

“I am humbled by what I saw at the airport. I was also briefed and shown photographs of what happened at the Government House yesterday. It was a reaffirmation of the bond between the people and their government,” he said.
Fubara assured that his administration would remain committed to policies and actions that improve the lives of Rivers people.
He also announced that he would address the state in a broadcast at 6 pm, during which he plans to acknowledge every stakeholder who contributed to the ongoing peace and stability in the state.
