Glo-sponsored African Voices to feature African entertainers
African Voices on CNN, sponsored by Globacom, will this weekend focus on the story of African entertainers who have been delighting the people across the continent and beyond on television and in the music industry.
Globacom in a statement in Lagos said the show would profile Nigeria’s multi-talented singer, song writer, singer, model and actor, Nonso Bassey, alongside two other outstanding artistes including Mampi Mirriam Mukape, a Zambian, and musician and a stand-up comedian from Johannesburg, South Africa, Loyiso Madinga.
Nonso Bassey’s profile has been on steady rise especially for his role in Battleground, the popular TV soap on DSTV sponsored by the National telecoms company, Globacom, as well as his debut single, 411, which was released in February.
On the programme, he will delight viewers with details of his exploits in the entertainment industry including what motivated him to go into music, how he combins acting with singing and modelling as well as how his participation in a popular reality TV show in 2016 prepared him for stardom.
R&B singer, Mirriam ‘Mampi’ Mukape, was a celebrity housemate in season 7 of Big Brother Africa. She will answer questions on her music, kwaito, especially on how it was inspired by Reggae.
The third guest is Loyiso Madinga. He is the new correspondent of The Daily Show. Loyiso who won the Graca Comedy Show and the Savanna Newcomer Award was selected to join The Daily Show for his award-winning comedy and conversational skills.
The programme goes on air at 11.30 a.m. on Friday with repeat editions at 7 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Saturday and at 12.30 a.m., 4.30 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday. Viewers can also watch the show at 5 a.m. on Monday and at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
